Specialist First Aid Training for High-Risk Outdoor Environments
Forestry and arboriculture work involves unique risks — chainsaws, heavy machinery, remote locations, and hazardous terrain. Our Forestry First Aid (+F) course is designed to meet the specific first aid needs of those working in forestry, tree surgery, land-based industries, and rural settings.
This course builds on standard first aid training with additional modules that address the injuries most encountered in forestry and remote outdoor work.

This course is suitable for:
- Forestry workers and contractors
- Tree surgeons and arborists
- Gamekeepers, estate workers, and land managers
- Utility and infrastructure workers in remote locations
- Anyone requiring +F certification for compliance with Forestry Commission or HSE guidance
What You’ll Learn
This course includes all content required by the Forestry Commission +F standard, including:
Scene safety and casualty management
Severe bleeding control and catastrophic haemorrhage
Crush injuries and amputations
Hypothermia and environmental exposure
Lyme disease awareness and tick removal
Chainsaw-specific injuries and trauma
Emergency communication in remote areas
Use of haemostatic dressings and tourniquets
Duration: 2–3 hours as an add-on, or integrated into a full-day first aid course
Assessment: Practical, scenario-based learning
Certification: +F endorsement, valid for 3 years
